Before I raise my mast this spring, I need to re-seize the spreaders to the upper shrouds. (They are supposed to be pretty tight, right?) This will require removing the rubber boots, which are rather dried out from years of UV exposure. Although I can reuse them (and will if I have to), I would prefer to replace them.
Unfortunately, CatalinaDirect no longer has them available:
.. and the leather ones they recommend as replacements look very unappealing.
Has anyone found an alternate source for the rubber spreader boots?

I too did not find the leather boots aesthetically appealing. I ordered three different rubber boots before I found a pair that would work - the large size Sea-Dog. The dimensions they list with the product descriptions don't really help.
NOTE! Although the first 3 pairs were too small - the large Sea-Dog was a little too big. I simply overlapped it on itself and used a sharp utility knife to trim off the excess (sort of like splicing in a patch of wallpaper.) They were then a perfect fit - no gaps.

I hope my trail & error will save you time!
Good luck! <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"> Thanks for the tip! It could save me a lot of time. Do we have the same spreaders? My C250 has the foil-shaped spreaders:

I was going to also mention that the openings on the large Sea-Dogs are oblong. The worked on my round C25 spreaders because the rubber the boots are made from is so pliable. I can't remember of the oblong opening is vertical or horizontal.
These must be new in their catalog - they didn't have any rubber ones when I looked last fall. My local store has one pair in stock - they are holding them for me.
It looks like these got one bad review for being sticky when the genoa slid past them. I've only got a 110% genny, so it won't reach it anyway. I'll save the old ones just in case.

So I ordered the large Sea Dog spreader boots on OJ's recommendation from Sailboatowners.com. They had them for 17.44/pair. 3 minutes later I get a phone call from them questioning as to why I ordered the large size to go on a C25. I explained to them what was discussed on this forum and that I would be cutting them down in size as OJ had done. They still thought I was making a mistake but would ship them anyway. This made me have second thoughts so I hope OJ you are right. I also thought that Sailboatowners.com went the extra mile in calling me when they thought I was making a mistake. Thumbs up to them.
FWIW, I picked up the boots from West Marine on Saturday, and had a chance to measure my spreaders afterwards. The C250 spreaders are 3 1/4" wide and about an inch thick - a perfect fit for the large boots linked above. It's going to be a week or so before I can re-seize the spreaders, so I won't be putting the boots on for awhile. But it looks perfect for a C250.
I noticed that the boots have the WM logo molded into them, so these might be sold exclusively by WM. I haven't seen the ones for a foil-shaped spreader anywhere else. The others seem to be for tube shaped spreaders, which might be a better fit for C25.

Glad that worked out! <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"> I realize that most WM stuff is relabeled from another mfg. But I could not find the oblong ones in the link that you provided - they were all for round tubular spreaders. Between the two it appears that they have all the options covered.
