The Cyclops CYC-9WS spotlight looks like a winner. Picked one up for $49 through Amazon. Price and customer ratings beat others I've looked into.

Two settings: Long range and immediate area. 9 LEDs. 3 hour full power burn capacity. 2 lbs. Two charging cords (home and 12 volt).

Any idea which type of battery it uses (NiCad, NiMH, or Li-ion)? At that price, probably not the latter.
