Well, I got the two batterys installed under the stbd settee and the new off/on/1/2 switch. Just bought on sale a nice charger, question now is, where to put a 30A twistlock fitting for those visits to the dockside. I see a number of places, but would very much appreciate advice from those who have put in, or have installed, a 30A fitting, as to what has been most convenient for you in terms of not just wiring up, but ease of use at the dock when doing work, or cruising. Ours is mounted on the outside of the coaming--at the point where it jogs in just forward of the winch. The advantage is that the cord is not in the cockpit when dockside. The disadvantage is that salt water is frequently trying to penetrate the gasket on the cover--a poor situation in my opinion.

I'd put it inside the port coaming compartment, out of the green water and the weather. If I used it at all (we don't have power on our docks), I'd probably move it there.

Last spring I removed the original 15A receptacle and installed a 30A receptacle and it is also mounted where the coaming jogs just forward of the port winch. I used the heavy-duty Marinco 30A receptacle with the so-called waterproof locking cap.

Ron - I installed a 30A Marinco inlet in the same place as Don's & Dave's - that jog on the port side ahead of the winch. (I think if it was in the coaming box it would be darn hard to plug in the cord!) One advantage of the jog position is it brings the cord directly into the port "warehouse" (!) and if you wish to run 110V power into the cabin you have easy access and a short run. I also installed a GFCI outlet in that locker.
