My outboard uses C clamps to hang off the transom which I don't trust so I made a motor mount on the trailer tongue. I figure most of the 9.9's are bolted but some of you may be using a little kicker.
Interesting concept. Should work fine for 2.5 and 3.5 kickers, but I'm not too sure I would use that design for anything bigger. I know of a few C22 owners that had an outboard mount welded to one side of the V portion at the front of their trailer. The mount holds their motor facing forward tilted at an angle somewhat parallel to the bow curve. works well for them. I don't know if it was a factory option by the trailer mfgr.
Interesting, Bob. I'm not sure it will hold 100# ++ motors, though?????? Most of the motors here are around 9.9 HP and weig between 95 -125 pounds. With that much weight, probably safer on the transom.
