All that ends well is good. Some businesses will push it knowing they will probably never see you again anyway. Which in this case seems likely. The fact that the owner backed down so quickly is a testament to common sense. Remember, C25 owners are typically considered savvy, so while he was taking advantage, you called him on it and that was that.
And the edumacation you got was worth a lot and is further insurance you will maintain your rig and won't require their services in the future.
Well, went down to the boat Friday night and my dock neighbor (Cape Dory 28) had a Harkin Mark IV furler exactly like mine installed last week. He used a different rigger I had never heard of but who is apparently well known to several other people on my dock and got it installed for exactly $100.00 less than I did.
Good news is he paid more for his furler so in the long run I still came out a little better than he did. Bad news for me is he didn't have to drop his mast to get his done like I did.
What's that saying? Doesn't matter how much you pay up front, a $1,400.00 furler will end up costing you $1,400.00 by the time it's all said and done (or something like that).

Glad you got that worked out, you're going to love having roller furling.
Friday I replaced the lead block in front of the drum to the furler with a bigger one which made the angle of the furling line less acute. Hopefully this will fix the occasional time that it jams.
Of course, you have to wonder... did (does) he follow this forum? If so, the outcome being reported positively is worth so much more!
Glad to hear that your Furler is in and working. Enjoy it. Everytime you wind it in or ease it out, divy up that cost.. a few years from now and you'll have a cheap furler!

If I ever get out of the slip and use it! The first weekend after I got it installed there was no wind and it was burning hot. The past couple of weekends its just been hot.
I took a vacation day today with the plans of sailing but it got up to 98 so I decided to stay home.
If I could get my nav lights fixed I'd go out after work. I repaired them last weekend but when I tried them Friday night they were not working again.
