Can anyone confirm for me the ball size required for the Trailrite Trailers (if they're all the same)? The broker I'm buying C25 #5553 from told me it was a 2-5/16" ball, but I wanted to confirm that with others if I could.
I have a 1981 TrailRite which requires a 2 5/16" . . . remember there are a lot of underrated hitches out there . . . contgrats, good luck and safe towing to you . . . we want pictures . . . <img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>
Considering that the total weight of a late model Catalina 25 on the typical tandem axle tralier can exceed 8500#, or 7500# for the older, lighter boats, a 2-5/16" hitch is the minimum size. If someone out there is towing a C-25 on a trailer with a 2" hitch, they are dangerously overloading the hitch ball, and probably the coupler and surge brake cylinder as well.
