We left on Saturday for 10 days, Saturday night was nasty storms (plural) and we dragged our anchor despite several resets. Sunday we headed out through angel fish creek to the ocean side of the keys, and down to Garden Cove Marina. I wore my Boat US cap when meeting the dock master to arrange the slip. He didn't even ask, and just applied the Boat US rate! It pays fly the flag.
Monday we sailed down to Rogreguez Key, awesome sail! We stayed reefed and hit 6.2 knots a couple of times.
Tuesday we hung out on the boat all day in the storms, ancchor held despite being in 'Rock Harbor' known for it's poor holding. Today we motored into John Pennekamp State Park for an overnight slip. Showers, AC, fresh water, and we'll head back to the Bay on Thursday.
Oh Well, if you don't like tempremental weather, you don't go sailing!

NWS forecasts less rain chances for the rest of the week and into the weekend.
Would like to here more about your stay at John Pennekamp State Park.
Yeah, I saw where we've had 5 inches in Daytona recently, it's a welcome thing and most of our fires are out now. At least it's coming down at a moderate rate and not flooding too bad. Paul, You're a lucky man to have the crew that is ready to overnight and vaca on the boat, especially when it's this hot. You go Peggy!! Have fun guys!
We took the kids down to the Caribbean in June. Second day there a big low pressure system passed through creating two days of 30-40 mph winds and rain. We took shelter in the lee of an island and I was worried about how my kids would handle being holed up for 2 days. They took one look at the rain and said, "well we're going to get wet anyway" and they spent two full days snorkeling the reefs in the lee of the storm and in the pouring rain. Had a great time. Plus, think of all the water I saved by them rinsing off on deck in the rain instead of using the transom shower... Great attitude Paul!
Our days are dropping off Spot's website (they only retain 7 days )
We had our handheld Garmin 76cx on most of the trip (used it as the anchor alarm overnight too) so our entire track should be on that. I'll export it and figure out (again) how to show it on google maps.
Cleaned the boat yesterday, time for an engine maintainence and try to figure out where the water leak by the mast is. Before our next trip: .. New Bimini Cover (our's got ripped, repairable, but time to replace) .. Replace the sail cover with a Sail Pack and new lazy jacks that reach higher on the mast. .. Replace the previously installed plastic rack in the bathroom with one that is more substantial. .. Replace the two wheeled cooler that I use as a seat for the galley with a larger no-wheel version (sick of falling off the old one) .. Install a new bug screen in the V-Berth hatch, we used a temporary one this trip and it worked well. .. Locktite the mast head wind instrument tube nut (it loosened in the storm and we were worried it would break off.) .. Install a grey water tank under the galley (for when we are stuck at anchor!)

Thanks for the trip report and sorry you didn't have better weather. It is all part of the adventure, though. I'm looking forward to starting a 10 day sail on Saturday on Lake Superior.
On a future trip we plan to cross from the south shore of Lake Superior to Isle Royale. This area has pretty strict restrictions and we will need to manage our grey water. I'm intrigued by the last item on your project list. Please let us know what you come up with as a solution. I wonder if you could divert the sink into one of those collapsible 5 gallon camping water jugs... Can't wait to see what you come up with!
