OK true to form, sailing pics. I crewed on a fast boat, an Evelyn 32, this weekend and it was very cold and wet. Winds were hitting in the 30's and the high for the day was 55. In fact that morning, when I woke up on another boat we had taken down to Rush Creek yacht Club the night before to serve as our "water front condo", it was 31 degrees and the wind was howling through the rigging. I have to admit I really wondered what the hell I was thinking, going out in this crap. Luckily race committee delayed the race until after 1PM due to insurance regulations having to do with wind and water and air temp so it had a chance to warm up. I still wore two hoodies under a jacket under my life jacket. So we would sweat to death when working the boat which on that boat was a LOT of work, or start shivering with an occasional dash of lake water in our faces.
Out of 3 races we placed 1st, 1st and then 2nd which put us at 3rd for the series because of the handicap. No trophies but what a great weekend and work out.
Note the angle of the horizon. Yeah, that girl was laid over.
