Goes against all I considered sane. But I had a chalky Shakespeare and checked their website FAQ to learn it's ok. As directed: washed, 320grit, and thinned/brushed white Brightside polyurethane. It looks almost Galaxy-Series new (almost, because the Galaxy does not have the spiral ribs on the shaft).

Thanks.. I need to do mine. I've got what looks like fiberglass fibers on the outside .. kinda creeps me out. Keep thinking I'll slide my hand across it.
I'm thinking that since radio waves penetrate brick walls, a little paint isn't gonna stop much. Cosmetically, it'll look like paint on plastic as time passes. Probably a good application for the brands designed to paint plastic.
