I tried emailing Joe as directed by the "links" page on the association website, and the address comes back as invalid. Has anyone ordered a mast gate lately and know if there is a new way to get in contact with him? The last result I was able to find on a search of the forum was from about 2005 or so; I'm assuming he probably isn't doing it anymore. I was hoping for another option other than CD for $45 plus their outrageous $11 shipping for a tiny mast gate kit.

I read some years ago that flooring threshold aluminum can be a viable option.

As David mentioned, my mast gates are fashioned from an aluminum threshhold from Home Depot.

That link should have been removed years ago, he sold rights to Catalina Direct. You want his mast gates, buy CD mast gates.

Check out Luque's MastGates. I have installed CD's gates but I have to admit mastgates is a cool design and very simple.

Though I wonder if it pops open a little too easily, i.e., perhaps at inopportune times . . .

Maybe it's not sick.
