We never really had the ocassion to use our small winches on our little 19 foot Potter and not too often on our C250 due to lighter winds here. . However, as we become more confident we're going to go out in more wind and I need some tips on using the coaming winches.
Since the PO mounted the self-tailers on the coamings too close to his bimini frame, one cannot get a complete crank around on the winch, necessitating ratcheting.
Is this a problem worth moving the bimini frame aft a few inches? Any adivce on winching in say 12-15 knots with a 110 genoa would be helpful. . . . THANK YOU!
