AA battery operation only
great spare

How old is it? I've got a Uniden handheld (for backup) that has quit receiving - transmits fine. It's at the shop now for diagnosis, but I expect he'll say it's not worth fixing.

I'll bet I've had this for 10 years or so. We take it on 2 wk cruise each year as backup. On our C-25 we have installed VHF and never even take handheld aboard. Handheld just sits in cabinet at home all year. Looks new , works great.
