Hope y'all are having a great summer!
Hoping the heat doesn't burn you out, Summer is just getting underway up here in the PNW!!....here's a bit of our world..
Sailed up to Stevenson Wash, from Hood River Oregon for the Bridge of the Gods Kiteboarding competition. >>> http://www.nwkite.com/forums/t-23588.html

This year's sail turned out a bit better than last years sail

So happy to have sailed over 65 miles in 3 days, here's a few of the proud moments of boat ownership!

Took 26 miles & 6.5 hrs upwind(/downcurrent) and 5.5 hours back downwind(/upcurrent) 23 miles. Fun times like these make it all worth it.

Thanks for sharing the pictures. My first sailing experiences were on the Columbia river. A good friend of mine lived aboard a Catalina 27 on Hayden Island. Good times and I met alot of good folks. I hope to visit again sometime. I live outside of St Louis, Mo and have sailed on the Mississippi for years. A few years back I went on a 3 day excursion up river and had a great time. I think it was about a 35 mile round trip. I should have taken some pictures.

You can e-mail me at oil@newvtx.com

The GPS program I used is called "My Tracks" it's an android application from google. The best part is that it's free! You do need an android phone however! A Also have Navionics on the phone which also tracks, but doesn't post or share with google.

Uni, I too have Navionics for my IPhone. True you can post with google, that I know of but you can record your track, capture geo-tagged pictures, and create a virtual adventurelogue of your entire trip and then share it with your friends and family via email, Facebook or Twitter. I haven't tried this feature yet via email and I dont use FB or any social networking service. I know there are other members who also use Navionics and wonder if they could chime in here if they have used this feature.

I've been thinking about downloading Navionics for my Android phone but some of the reviews say it's not too stable. How do you guys like it and does it give you any problems?

Wish I had a sailing venue as pretty as Uni's!

Gary, I have Navionics on my IPhone. A few times problems loading but
overall, its great. I can't really say if you have an android. I have tried several other programs and like this one the best, at least for Western States.
Uni, I am able to view my tracks from Navionics using Google earth. I can email that link but I cant figure out how to post here on our site. I can also from Google earth import to Google maps but when I do that, the track is not there. GRRRRRR.....

when viewing your track in google, there's a small button that looks like a link. You'll need to click it to
get the link for the page you are viewing, then just copy & paste it. Remember I used "My Tracks" not the navionics
trackker.. not sure it makes a difference, but you need to click the link in order to copy it...

I sent the link from Navionics to Google Earth. I see the track in Google earth. I then send that link to google maps where I see the location but no track is shown. I then click the small button that looks like a link to copy and paste.
But now sure what you mean use "my tracks" not the trackker. I dont see those options. where are they? on Navionics, google earth or google places. Either way, I dont see that option. This is what I get:
http://g.co/maps/nrgc
location but no track.
