Anybody up for driving to Nashville for a C-22 only regatta Oct. 8-9, 2011? We are hosting the Music City Catalina Cup, last of the 2011 GRITS (Great Racing In The South) series for C-22's (Region 3)and I'll be crewing for another guy in our fleet. So my boat is available. It is a trailer-sailed 1975 boat, Waters racing main and genoa, VC Offshore Epoxy bottom, blade rudder, barney post which places the main sheet forward of the tiller, Harken winches on the coaming (not cabin top). It does have the pop-top so it is not as light as some of the older hulls, but it is fairly competitive in silver fleet. I'll splash it if someone brings a crew to race it. Go to PPYC.org for the NOR and other details.

Email pilcherd at bellsouth dot net or call me at 6-1-5-4-3-0-1-4-9-6.

Our first (and hopefully annual) Music City Catalina Cup, is this weekend. I'll be entering our boat, Shadowfax, after all, in order to put another boat on the line, since I didn't get any takers to come and race. We'll have 3 starts, gold & silver fleets on the buoy course and a long distance cruising course for the non-racers and newbies. Weather is supposed to be sunny Sat. and Sun. with temps in the low 80's and light winds Sat. 6-9 mph. Wish us luck!
Burger cookout tomorrow evening and Sat. dinner will be beef brisket and grilled chicken, vegetables, and a variety of desserts people are bringing.

Good luck this weekend! We have a kick b#@t C-22 that races on our lake. If I can see him, he has corrected over me. Keeps me on my toes.

I'm racing Dad's Laser 28 this weekend. It's a joy to sail but I'll be happy when the repairs are finished on my CP25.

We had <s>18</s> 17 boats total for the regatta. Winds were very light, but we still managed to get in 5 races in gold fleet, 4 races in silver fleet and 3 distance races in the cruising fleet. I didn't do too well, but we had fun and the food was great. There's a good chance we'll do it again next year. Five of the <s>18</s> 17 boats were in the non-racer cruising fleet.
Edited 10/10/11, 18 boats expected, 17 raced, 7 were from out of town.
