We had the last of our Fall Series yesterday. A month ago the first 2 were drifters and the 3rd cancelled for lack of wind. Yesterday the forecast was for 20k+ and isolated T'storms. We ran a 100 jib and a full main and were relieved to see the competition with the same sail plan. Just as we finished the 1st race we were clobbered by a squall packing 35-40k wind and driving rain! We already had the jib down and the main out at 90 degrees but were still doing 4 knots. The J-22 fleet was still racing and I've never seen so many glorious broaches at one time... The 2nd race we did an horizon job on the competition (I've no ides why we so far ahead!). Race 3 was cancelled as another squall was coming in. We did win the Series with 4 bullets.

This weekend we were scheduled for our "Commodore's Cup" (5 race series), but the east coast of Florida has been and is getting pasted by what sounds like similar weather that you had (25-28, with gusts to 48 reported this morning, and torrential blinding rain bands). So our races were rescheduled for Oct 22-23 and hopefully nicer weather!!!

Thanks guys! The other good thing this weekend is we've had lots of rain with, hopefully, more to come in the next few days. It's sorely needed to break our "exceptional" drought.
