I had this happen to me in Brazil. I had a 1966 45 Philip Rhodes wooden boat. P.O. had termites, but did not replace the eaten wood, the boat lost a 3 sq ft chunk of deck where both my anchors where secured and my boat ended up in the rocks. It´s not a pretty sight, hurts a lot but as one doors closes another one opens. I learned a lot with my accident. Cheers
