Any tips on moving the boat from A to B? With the boat being 9'-2" wide, are special permits needed? Can you see around the hull (fixed fin) with the mirrors on a standard pu?
Couldn't find a search or I would have looked in past posts first, I am planning a long move.

Anything 8'-6" wider needs permit, people do it all the time.

It's been a couple of years since I moved mine but I don't think there were any issues with standard mirrors on my truck. I used two heavy duty straps to help secure the Capri to the trailer, store the outboard, made little cradles to secure the mast to the front and rear pulpits. Cushion the mast where it rests over the cabin. I use a 20' strap to extend the trailer when launching. Hope this helps

I moved my boat from CO to SC without a permit. Even though it IS a wide load, it does not really LOOK like a wide load, especially when towed behind a regular pickup truck or SUV. I still move the boat the 10 miles from lake to home without a permit in SC once every couple of years. I suppose you need to be concerned about the penalties in the States you plan on traversing to get a handle on the risk. My F250 has extendable mirrors which work fine during towing as I recall.
