Last week I gave the okay to a guy to bring his dad out to look at our boat. In the process, he broke the top companionway hatch board; the right side vertical piece broke off at the tongue & groove joint with the center piece. Outside Lebanon, Tn, about 20 miles from here, there is a shop called Tommy's Teak World Enterprises. I took the board to them and they fixed it while I waited. Drilled 2 holes along the edge and counter-sunk 2 screws into the center board, glued it up and plugged the holes. Made wood putty using teak sawdust & wood glue and cleaned up 2-3 other small splits. Board looks great and I'm pleased. Charged me $10.
Apparently, he supplies teak swim platforms to a few boat mfgrs. and does cabinet work too. Might be a good source for replacement teak parts. Check it out.
