Sam,
There's a 1983 C-25 fixed keel with a marine head and new cushions for sale on Ebay, in Guntersville, AL that might interest you. Looks clean. Not mine, no connection to me at all.

Since they don't know the difference between a C25 and C250, it appears they don't know what they have and the price reflects that as well. Looks like it could be a good deal.
David, I can't figure out the logic in the title for your post?

You are right about that they do not know what they have... or big Typos that is either a fin keel or wing keel..IT is NOT a swinger Nor is it a 250... Sam, if you can use a wing keel, they only draw what a swing does when raised, but are not as fast as a swing. this could be an opportunity..

Interesting that a couple of you see the seller's incompetence as an "opportunity." Maybe so, but it also is a warning to take seller's statement that "This boat is awesome and ready to go...just need to raise the sails!" with a HUGE grain of salt.

It's an opportunity to roll the dice, IMO.

Agreed.

$5500 price and did not sell....decent price, but bad market still....and without a trailer the buyer has to be on that lake....or willing to spend upwards of $1500+ to move it.

Arlington,
I was directing the post to Sam since he indicated he was looking for a boat with a marine head and the boat seemed to be relatively close to him.

Oh I see Dave, now it makes perfect sense. The above comments sure emphasize how we all see things a little differently. If I see anything close to GA I will try to pass it on.
Thanks Doug

Go back and look more closely at the 81's "head" pics. both show a porta-potti.

The boat in the listing you referenced, glw, looks like a '83-86 vintage (rounded metal rimmed windows and no whale eye bow lights), fin keel (can't see a swing keel pivot pin box and the trailer is a fin keel trailer). Trailer is a Trail-Rite, almost identical to the one I have. Looks like a sweet deal if it is still available and you live in the mid-west or western states.

How vital is a marine head? I'll be happy to show you mine if you feel like a trip to the Music City, 1884 tall rig, swing keel, fin keel Trail-Rite trailer (makes working on the bottom a lot more comfortable), good main, 4 head sails, 9.8 Nissan elec start, dual batteries, but it has a porta-potti.

I see them up here at Lanier all the time, they come and go. some good deals, some not.

http://www.yachtworld.com/core/listing/pl_boat_detail.jsp?&units=Feet&id=2371652&lang=en&slim=broker&&hosturl=snugharborboats&&ywo=snugharborboats&

This one looks a bit beat up but who knows, it might be just the thing.

http://www.saillanier.com/for-sale.php

he's got some nice boats listed also.. I'd love the Ranger.. but then.. I've got a boat. No Catalina 25 right now.

regards.ray

Thanks to all....keep them coming. I am checking all the places I know.
the Utah one looks very clean! a great deal for someone out west.
I have been to Snugharbor and seen the C25 there. Needs some TLC and a bottom job, and iy hss no trailer.
I am continuing my search. :-)

Do you have to have that marine head? They're usually more trouble than they're worth and will open up your options a LOT more.

I am still looking for the marine head and roller; and trailer. I have looked at a few boats with a porta-potti and have come close to re-thinking it. Sailed a lot of years on the C-bay in a Person 30 with head and came to appreciate it. So I think I am still 90% head but for boat with everything else---at a great price :-) I could play the 10% win. Thanks again for all the help looking!

You could always find the perfect boat with trailer and install a head later. Most c25's with a head probably need most of the parts replaced anyways.
