I am lookin for folks who are or have been cruising GA and Carolinas, and their feedback.

Added Charleston to the topic to see if any travlers down the ICW had some input.

That's probably a question that's better asked over at SailNet.com or CruisersForum.com. Not to knock the folks here, but you'll get a broader cross-section of opinions on those sites.

Based on the Maptech Embassy Cruising Guide I have for my area, I would recommend:

Depending on how well it covers the ICW, I'd possibly buy another book specifically on that, in case I decided to do parts of the trip "inside." ICW information should be pretty fresh--it changes (and deteriorates) rapidly.

Agree on the changes! I get the CG electronic updates link below.

The USCG District Seven Local Notices to Mariners (05-2012) is now available for download.

http://navcen.uscg.gov/pdf/lnms/lnm07052012.pdf

In addition, the 2012 USCG Light List Volume Three is available and is updated to Local Notice (01-2012), as is the summary of corrections.

The Local Notice to Mariners, Light List, and Summary of Corrections are posted weekly and require Adobe Acrobat Reader (free download) or another PDF Viewer.
