I want to replace the halyards and rolling furler line while I have the mast down. What is a good line to use at a fair price? The current furler line has a splice and is black and I want to get rid of the splice. The halyards are white with blue flecks and are worn.

I like Nova-Tech XLE line from roscoef at Discount Rope and Line (Allentown, PA) on Ebay. It's a Canadian line similar to Samson XLS line, low stretch and very supple. Fifty ft. of 5/16ths line will run about $30.00 with free s/h., $48-$52 for 100 ft., to give you an idea of pricing. White with flecks is at the lower end and colors with white flecks is at the upper end of the pricing. You get a choice of colors. Personally, I like white with green flecks for the main halyard and white with red flecks for the jib halyard in keeping with the bow light colors. How about blue with white flecks for the furler?
Assuming you have all-rope halyards, if you run them back to the cockpit, with a std rig you should buy at least 66 ft. for the main (mast length 28 x 2 + 10) and 68 ft. for the jib (mast 28 + forestay 30 lengths +10). If you stay with 1 color for both, I assume you would buy one length, say 135-140 ft. and cut it yourself. Eye splices will most likely add a little bit to the price. Of course, if your mast is down, you can remove the old halyards and measure them. Are you using 1/4" line for the furler?
The mast is down and I was going to order 100'ea of three colors. I think I will stay with 5/16 line for the halyards and furler. One quarter inch line for the furler seems small. Currently part of it is 5/16 and the end after the splice is 1/4. The 1/4 inch line does not get on the furler with the sail stored. I guess I should measure the lines and just order what is needed as I do not need any more extra line for anything else.
