We held this 3 race regatta last Saturday, Wind was 20-25K and gusty.
We ran a reefed main and a 100% jib. We won race 1 when our main competition, a Colgate 26, made an error in sailing the course.
Races 2 nd 3 we lost to the Colgate - he ran a full set of sails and killed us going downwind. We were a little handicapped because a bird had sat on the windex and tilted it 90 degrees aft and the knotmeter decided to go on the fritz.
I think it's the 1st regatta we have lost in 4 years...but it was still enjoyable!

Couldn't get the water-jet started, huh? Well, on the plus side, this might help keep the PHRF committee from re-rating TSU...

Nice job! Are you entered in the Moon Shine Pursuit this weekend?

I wish I could have entered that one.

I haven't heard of that one, Jonathan. It must be at LCYC. Tell me more as I might be interested.

You're correct, LCYC. Its a 10 nm race. Starts at 7:30pm in phrf order. First one back to the marina wins. There's also a chili cookoff right before the race.

Moon Shine Regatta

Saturday, March 31st, 2012

Paired with the LCYC Chili Cookoff, held before the race.

Starts will be staggered according to PHRF, with the highest rated boat crossing the start line first. The end

result should be that all boats cross the finish line at the same time. The race will start off the Club's breakwater, proceed to the Dam and then down the lake to Cranes Mill and back...about 10 NM.
