GOD--I'd LOVE to idle up the Thames River unannounced in that thing, past the General Dynamics Electric Boat sub plant toward the USN sub base and the Coast Guard Academy, and watch the excitement! Virtually nobody there was alive when that boat was in service, but it definitely looks serious!

I did some simple math...if you had the funding...and charged $45 per 1 hour ride...and sailed for 6 months...you could recoup your investment in about 2 years...and have a ton of fun giving tourists the rides!

How much fun would it be to go to your favorite gunk hole with that, Point the nose at the person who is anchored in your favorite spot and over the loud speakers say.. MOVE!

When I was a kid there was a converted PT that was used for excursion rides near Boothbay. A neat boat BUT I remmeber that the ride was bad as it was designed for speed not comfort, and it went out of service becasue the plywood rot was impossible to keep up with. That said, you did ask if miooney was not an issue . . .
