I raised my mast the other day, and did a rough tensioning of the rig. (I need to wait until the boat is in the water to fine tune it.) I've always noticed that the tensions are not totally symmetrical on my boat. The starboard backstay and port upper are always a little higher tension than their opposing counterparts.
I finally noticed why: When standing on ground directly behind the boat's center, looking up at the mast (gudgeon and mast base aligned), the backstay turnbuckle is about 4" to starboard. Pythagoras tells me that in order for this to happen, the starboard lower backstay bridle would be about 1" shorter than the port one. (I'm embarrassed that I never measured this with the mast down - I'll stick a tape measure on it next time I'm at the boat.)
I doubt that this is a major problem, since some of you have even converted to a single backstay that is a lot more off-center than my rig. But I am curious whether others with a similar split backstay have noticed this issue also. I'll correct this when I replace the standing rigging someday, but in the meantime I plan to just live with it.

I'm not familiar with the details of the C250 rig, but if the existing rigging is factory stock, I would recommend against altering it. Mast rigging doesn't have to be symmetrical. It simply needs to be sufficiently adjustable so that it can hold the mast in column and tension it properly. When in doubt, I would trust that the company that designed, tested and built hundreds of the boats worked out the basic bugs.
