The guy who bought my boat encountered an interesting problem (my apologies Warren if I'm stealing your thunder). He decided to replace the keel cable, among several other things, while 'Recess' was on the trailer. She has the updated keel cable bracket, but the pin holding the cable to the bracket was messed up and needed to be replaced. The replacement pin CD sells is for the old style bracket and is about 1/4" too short to fit the newer bracket. He had to find another source to order one long enough. found one at Downwind Marina(e?) in California, $6 plus shipping, (San Diego?). He said the turning ball came out very easily, showed it to me, very little wear on it thankfully, so he now has a spare in pretty good condition. The new style keel cable bracket is 'U' shaped, and the fork-like fitting at the end of the cable fits inside the two sides of the bracket, so the pin has to be long enough to go through both sides of the bracket plus space for a cotter pin.

I also had a concern that all pins are not created equal. I also got a longer pin from Catalina. One thing I did, to keep the cable centered in the U shaped connector was to put washers inside the keel connection and on the outside of the keel connection so that it stays centered when the pin is put through.
