I noticed that my jib sheets were getting wear damage where they rubbed and scraped past the cotter pins in the stay turnbuckles. To resolve this I wrapped the turnbuckles with rigging tape.
The problem is, the rigging tape needs to be continually attended to. On my Catalina-22 I used PVC tubing to solve the problem but on the C-250 with both stays adjacent and with the large stainless deck plate, the PVC tubing would need to be very large diameter.
On my 250 wk I have turnbuckle covers. The cotter pins are not exposed until you lift the covers up. I though the covers where standard equipment, at least they were on the 2000 model year.
My jib sheets don't touch the turnbuckle covers. I have the 135% jib so the sheets run on the outside of the lifelines. When the jib is furled in to about 100% or less then I run the sheets on the inside of the lifelines & stays.
