So this question is specific to how my boat runs against strong current and wind. My boat has a prop that shows: SAILER MICHIGAN 11 RH7 12/85 which, I think, from the date is original The motor is a 10 hp/2 cylinder Universal diesel. When the boat has to go against a strong current and wind, it doesn't make headway. Last season, I tried increasing the revs from 2700, which is were I normally run it to 3000/3200 but that didn't help. I'm wondering if others of you have this problem, how you have resolved it.
Daniel 86 "Solar Wind" #5339 C-25 FK/SR I/B Diesel
I have had ours in 24 knot headwinds with 2 to 3 foot seas and it does fine. I would guess that your propeller is fouled. I keep mine clean, but it is easy because we take the boat out of the water often to sail in different lakes. 11 RH7, I think means 11 inch diameter, right turn - 7 inch pitch.

If your going against a strong current and wind, you are probably not going to make much headway no matter what prop you use. During part of a cruise, I was going against an up to four knot current with headwinds and motoring at around 5-5.5kts. It felt like I was standing still.
