Has anyone ever had a problem with a stuck outboard motor bracket?
I can't to get it unstuck.. its goes a little past the 2nd notch and won't go any farther.

Thanks in advance

Is it bent? Are you trying to go down (i.e. against the springs) or up?

as far as I can tell it is not bent... it is stuck in the down position...

Post some photos.

If it is Gen II the side plates can bend so that the stub that slides in the channel binds and won't release. This is the most common failure and CD sells replacement plates for it.

I know this sounds silly, but is the handle from the outboard locking against the transom? Its happened to me that the handle gets in the way and the bracket is stuck in the down position.

Did something happen to it? I don't remember there being an issue when we moved the boat out of the cove....

How are the bushings on the motor mount? Mine were questionable so I ordered a bushing kit from Garhauer and it worked much more smoothly afterwards.

all was fine on my 2nd voyage... we docked on the other side... got a bite.. then headed back... when I went to lift the motor... it wouldn't come back up...
I will check it in detail this weekend..
