Nice set up there Rob - no worries that the outboard will ever suck air!

I consider the '87, 88 models as "crossovers." The main salon cabin sole is similar to that of a swing keel model . . . your wing is a conversion or factory equipped?

Good luck with the sale!

When I changed the motor mount I tried to use the 2 existing holes in the transom and that's why the motor sits a bit lower but haven't had a problem with it.And yes,the wing keel is original from the factory.I wish I could of found a boat in this shape with all the upgrades when I bought this one but I've had the best of times on Destiny and have no regrets.

Just curious as to where this boat is located since it rolled off the assembly line right behind mine #5688

Wow, that's a very nice boat, and probably the nicest trailer I've seen here. Hope you get a quick sale.

Thank you.The trailer has less than 1000miles on it and with delivery cost $5000.I think the new owner will have as much fun as I've had with Destiny. Recently(May 6th) I purchased a 1987 TR/BS fin keel and hope to enjoy my new old boat as much as Destiny.

That has to be among the best looking brightwork I've seen on a used boat of this or any other vintage. What did you use?

Thank you. I used the standard cetol marine finish on the bright work with 2 to 3 coats applied. It is very opaque with lots of resin so it does a great job of blocking the u.v. rays. The BS stands for Bow Sprit although it COULD stand for something else also!

New price update on my 1987 wing keel 25. I'm now asking $13000.00 for a turnkey boat ready to sail away with NEW trailer to haul anywhere. All offers considered.

it is great boat, the big problem is that comps for other boats are lower that yours
I know I looked for more than 8 months
you must decide to wait until your price comes around or
entertain offers.
just my thoughts

I agree that my price is higher than most comparable wing keels but I challenge anyone to compare upgrades to upgrades, trailer to trailers, boat to boat, or motors to motors and find better value for less money. What would you rather do, put a bunch of money into a fixer-upper or let me do it(plus the time to do it) and get a turn-key boat for a lot less time and money than if you did it yourself?

You might want to consider selling the boat and trailer separately. In my case, if I were in the market again to buy a new C25, I would not need a trailer. So your boat/trailer package would be over-priced compared to a very well kept boat without one.

Another thing to consider is that many C25 buyers are first time boat buyers and will not appreciate the cost of all your improvements. I know I didn't when I got my boat back in 2004. I've easily got 6-7k in upgrades and add-ons to my boat that I probably will not get back at resale.

Add that to the fact that you can find C25's on CL for as little as 2000.00 and you're going to have to be patient. I do hope that you can get your price.

I'm sure prospective buyers are doing just that....at all the sites you have her offered for sale. I bet your boat is the "If I had the money" boat against which the other bargain boats are judged.

Destiny is indeed a superior vessel...Like Cate's Mysterious, I look at your pictures and think "so that's what it's supposed to look like"....and "I need to do that to my boat".....

Thanks for the comments on my boat. I agree with Davy J that without the trailer it could be high on price but the trailer allows me to sell to ANYONE in the U.S. and without the trailer the buyer would more than likely have to be local(like I was when I bought Destiny). The trailer also allows the owner to do what he wants WHEN he wants instead of being told when to put in and when to haul out by the marina which in my opinion is worth a lot. It also allows the boat to go to different cruising grounds that would be impossible if it was on a cradle. Thanks for the kind words from Joe Diver. I tried to make Destiny the best sailboat it could be and appreciate someone who can recognize the money and work to make that happen.

I think all agree that the boat is a great one with upgrades. And there is one buyer that will appreciate it. It just may take a while to find him.

Hi Doc,
Be patient, it takes a little time for a good owner to find a GOOD Boat. Where did you find your covers for the Standard Horizon Depth Gauge? Your trailer looks great, do you have any more photos of the boat on the trailer or just the trailer? How easy is it to load and unload?
Thanks
Doug

Hi Doug,

Patience isn't my best virtue but I'm trying.I got the covers for both the depth and speed gauges at a local sailboat dealer so you should be able to find them elsewhere. I don't think I have any shots of just the trailer. The loading is more difficult because of the bunks but more so can be attributed to the shallow ramp at our marina. Unloading is easy but we do lower the back ends of the two back bunks for easier float off. The 8' tongue extension is a must in my opinion. The trailer was built by Loadmaster in Clinton, Ohio is is built like a tank which is a good thing. Thanks for the comments!

When we were buying our boat, we looked a year to find what we wanted, I am told that the average is 270 days on the market, but you can't pay Too much for a good solid boat that needs no work, YOU CAN PAY TOO MUCH for a boat that NEEDS...
Our boat is #5612 made in 1987 and we are VERY happy with it.. we talk with owners of bigger boats at our marina and many say they would love to go back/go to Catalina 25...
