I had gotten pretty accustomed to the mud-flat (low tide) smell in various friends' boats with marine heads, although I'd say the odor is even a little more acidic than marsh gas. My C-25 had a porta-potti... My latest boat has a plumbed-in head with an integral holding tank. The difference is it runs off my fresh water system instead of salt water. With some ordinary head chemicals, it's totally odorless. Salt water makes the game very hard to win. Owners just get used to it.
