Both of our sinks are in bad shape due to lime deposits and hard water. I would like to replace them with fiberglass. Does any one know if there are drop-in replacements available?

I really don't but don't you think some bon-ami or barkeeper's friend and a little elbow grease would make the metal ones look great?

I was looking for a solution that would be "low maint" in the future. A friend has an oday 22 and it has a fiberglass sink so l thought that it was worth checking out.

I think you'll be more disappointed with "fiberglass" (more likely acrylic these days). The first time you need to clean it with anything rougher than hand soap, it's down hill fast from there. Stainless is the most tolerant of virtually whatever it takes to clean it. I wouldn't have anything else in my kitchen or my galley.

I have to agree with Dave above, Some CLR then a metal polish of your choice and they come right back like mine did.

Stainless steel is still the most popular kitchen sink style which provides the lowest price point. There are two main things to look for in choosing a stainless steel sink, the thickness or gauge of the steel and the sound deadening ability. The most scratch resistant sink material on the market today is granite composite. These sinks offer the highest level of durability. Solid surface sinks have become increasingly popular because of their ability to be one, integral unit with the counter top. This is an attractive option for those who want a clean surface with no exposed edges from granite counter tops to sink.

What do you use your sink for? Ours has never held water, but it hods a plethera of other stuff that needs to be handy when we go sailing.

The boat I crewed on at the start of the season had a divider built in his sink to hold all his water bottles, gadgets, etc. I don't think I know anyone who actually uses their sink as a sink. Honestly, its too small to wash anything bigger than a coffee cup, and we have buckets a-plenty for that. When we do dishes down below we actually set a washtub on the stove, right next to the sink.

I wash dishes in our C-25 sink, but it also tends to collect stuff when we are sailing.

I disconnected the sink by the head and removed the hand pump. I use that area as a shelf to hold a suitcase.

Yea, They are small and to get anything under those hand pumps was interesting that's why when I pressurised my system I put in a pull out sprayer.
