We have the 1986 OEM tan Catalina cockpit cushions, same as the ones we had on our 1981 C22 which we moved to our C25.

What have you found is good for cleaning them?

All of my cushions, cockpit and interior....I just unzipped the covers and washed them in my home washing machine. I hung them to dry rather than using the machine for fear of shrinking.....came out really good.

I thought the year would be a giveaway - they're the vinyl ones, and the covers won't come off 'cuz the zippers stuck. I do NOT need to take the foam out, nor want to, I only want to know how to clean the outsides.

Squirt 'em with household cleaner, and scrub 'em with a dishcloth. Worksd OK for us.

I have white vinyl cockpit cushions and car upholstery cleaner specifically made for faux leather or vinyl has worked best but multipurpose surface household cleaners work fine too. The automotive cleaners just seem to leave them feeling more conditioned/supple while the household cleaners seem to have more of a drying effect.

The vinyl conditioners are a good step. I gave mine their first scrubbing in years with Mr. Clean Magic Erasers and rinsed the whitish debris from the microfiber material with water and a sponge. Any mild soap, like Murphy's Oil Soap, and a soft scrub brush is fine if they aren't bad.

I ended up using Simple Green, full strength on a washcloth. Worked wonders. Thanks, skippers.
