We seem to get a fair amount of rain while at anchor. Any suggestions for minimising rain ingress with the pop top up?

Do you guys have the pop top cover that fits over a stainless hoop? We have a Taylormade umbrella like thing that we've used, but I don't really like it.

We have the original Pop Top Cover that came with the boat.

When it rains, we get ingress at the bottom of the windows and at the bottom of the companionway flap.

We have a sunbrella boom tent: stretches from the front edge of the Bimini to about a foot aft of the deck organizers. It narrows to about 30" wide at the front so that I can get up on the cabin top from the cockpit when it's in place.

Sean, that's a bigger tent than ours. Do you think you would leave it up if the wind climbed up the scale?

Ours clips to the bimini on both side and has a machined split around the mast topping lift with two more clips securing it to the bimini.

It's not as wide as yours forwards, and does not use poles.

That's half the problem.

Concern about your tent staying put in moderate winds.

Experience?

Paul

Use some Sch 80 PVC pipe and then you can pull it down tight by bending it slightly over the boom. Should help keep the movement down to a minimum.

Another thought would be to use some fiberglass tent poles and secure them to the stanchions on each side. Kind of a Connestoga Wagon look.

Looks like it's only sold in Scandinavia. I Googled for it, and found Sten's post from about six years ago when he still had his C-25 and telling us that he was the only person in the US that had one. That might still be the case.

This is all I could find: Freebag Overhead, but no way to order it (or any of their other gear) online.

Greg,

Sounds great to me...Now you have a reason to go to Norway so you can pay up front !!

Several years ago, I wanted to buy a new bike helmet that was made in Canada. We were going to the Canadian Rockies that summer and so I found a bike store in Calgary on the route out of there to the Rockies. They ordered the helmet and had it for me when we arrived. (Back then, purchases over $75, the Canadian Govt gave back the tax cost. At the airport, they had a booth to fill out the forms and we received back the taxes on the helmet, other purchases and the hotel taxes.)
