Catalina Yachts found one of the wing keel conversion kits... stay tuned!!! <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">
Bad news on the wing keel - shipping and installation costs over $6k. I found a 1983 C25 with the fin keel (it's a Mark II) for $1,500... I'm going to switch my mast, sails, cushions, motor, etc. over to the new boat. I will know the parts that are available as soon as I get done with the transaction. Likely all of the hardware (winches, woodwork, etc.) will be available.

When you do have everything available I suggest:
1. Start 1 thread in Swap. Honor posting/reply order. 2. Take pictures of parts available so condition can be assessed. 3. Price things reasonably. Take PayPal. 4. Be prepared to accurately (reasonably) quote shipping.
Hi guys - here's the latest on #1883 (Unforgettable) - I found another Catalina 25, a 1983 with fin keel in good condition right at my yacht club. Very low price. Not sure if it's a tall or standard rig, but getting it surveyed soon. If I can close the deal, most of my stuff will be usable on the new boat (cushions, sails, rigging, motor, etc.) but the rest (hardware, teak, electrical, etc.) will be up for sale. I'll let you know as soon as it works out.
Thanks to all in the Association and Forum community - very sad to lose my boat of 15 years, but happy to be staying in the Catalina 25 family!
Hi guys - sorry to have disappeared but here is an update on my boat. In short: constructive total loss because of the keel bolt failure... I have already stripped the boat of instruments, hardware, and rigging. Teak and stanchions are taking longer...
Here's what the boatyard and I tried: 1) drill out the stripped weldments: they are case-hardened, and the yard can't get through them 2) cut the weldments out of the hull, replace and re-glass: labor alone is more than the boat is worth, and trying to line up the bolts without building a custom jig is impossible 3) installing the Catalina keel replacement kit failed - even though I found one, Catalina refuses to sell it due to 'liability'..
So I'm back to parting her out... I will put the parts on eBay unless it is easier here: - full set of interior cushions in great shape (quarter berth cushion has rust stains from winch) - full set of cockpit cushions from Catalina Direct - full set of North sails, main and 155 genoa - North asymmetric spinnaker in bag with hardware and snuffer sock (used 4 times) - Winches - Standard Horizon depth, speed, and wind gauges (45 series) - Plexiglass forward hatch cover - Anchor hatch cover (original) - Original (1980) rudder and new tiller with cover - Hatch boards with storage cover - Pop top cover (new, never used) - Masthead VHF antenna - Mast and boom (standard rig) with new shrouds and turnbuckles - CDI Roller Furler - New lifelines (vinyl coated) and lifeline pads (custom made sunbrella) blue - Mainsail cover, custom sunbrella (blue) - ...any other parts that I can cut or unscrew...
Parts are located in Central NJ, boat hull and mast are in Lockwood Boat Works.
Please make me an offer at spgillooly {at} gmail.com
Forgot to mention - the newer C25 failed its survey. All of the wiring and plumbing had literally been ripped out, the hull is okay, the rudder is delaminated. Deck has voids and is wet, rigging is old and tired. Very sad that it didn't work out.
Sorry to hear about the issues with both boats. It is hard to do the right thing. On the happy side, there are a few good boats for sale right now. I will send you an email on the items I would like. Sam
This may not be feasible with shipping costs (we're located in MS) but we need a mast (and rigging if you still have it). Our boom is intact, but mast was snapped in half by Hurricane Isaac. Also need rudder and tiller if still available.
Mast, boom, rudder, and tiller are all available. Rigging and turnbuckles are just a few years old, excellent condition. If you want to try uship.com I will be happy to bundle it up for shipping!
My 1980 tall rig, fin keel is for sale. It's in great shape, but it lacks the sails and other goodies you have. If you bought my boat, and put your stuff on it, you'd have a great boat. It's listed on Craigslist, Long Island. Take a look, think about it, and make an offer. Thanks, Mike Muchmore, muchy1@verizon.net, 631-587-4703
