Has anyone come across any C25's with the 11hp Universal Diesel inboard and a wheel? Unfortunately I have to part with 1986 Std after a few years of fixing it up but never taking her out. Two kids when we purchased....now four kids and I can't see getting around to it anytime soon. We'll need more boat when we're finally ready again. I'll post pics soon but was just wondering what others have seen or know. Thanks, Tom
Really takes away from the value, significantly. Sorry to tell you this, but it is what it is. If you decide to sell her....I'll come get her off your hands for say, $1500....just let me know....
Joe's playing with you... That's a rather unique combo, as you know... Yachtworld.com, Boattrader.com, and other sites will show you what a lot of your competition is looking for. (Yachtworld is for brokers only.)
With an inboard, I'm guessing a fin keel... (?) ...and no trailer (?) Most inboard sailboats are a little bigger (standing headroom, etc.), but there could be a "special buyer" out there who values the inboard in the smaller, transportable boat. The net is I'm not sure if the inboard is a significant plus for many buyers in this category, but who knows?
I won't speculate on a price here--that could be an injustice to you. But look at the sites, in the 25-27' category in your general area. Then decide how urgent this is...

Totally agree with you. One kid when I purchased our boat, now two and less time for maintenance and sailing. When I was looking for a boat I wanted one with inboard so buyers sure exists :-)
Of course I am.....sounds like a sweet, choice boat. I'd love to see some pictures of the wheel setup in the cockpit, and underneath in the quarterberth.

Thanks for a the input. I'll miss this forum. And yes,I've been around long enough to know that you were joking Joe. I will get some pics. I have all of the bottom clearcoat epoxy and VC-17 sitting in my garage, so I'll probably get her somewhat shipshape before putting her up for sale. My Mother in law will be pissed; she did quite a job with the new zippers and dry cleaning of the cushion covers.

That changes everything! KEEP THE BOAT!! Write off the expenses as, ummmmmm, health insurance.
I have a 1988 inboard diesel Wing Keel, Standard Rig, that we have done a lot of work on. It is in very good condition. It is tiller not wheel. I have been offered 10K for it, which is about what I have in it.
This is really tough question... It's all about what condition she's in and how many upgrades you've done. Also it's all about how much she's worth to you and the buyer. There are people that are looking for fixer uppers that will offer you 3k for the boat that is in good shape - gets me ticked. So it's also about finding the right buyer.
I see sometimes C25 go for 4k - 6k. But when it comes down to selling mine (not even planning on it yet), I will never list it that low. I've invested nearly 7k in just last 6 months.... and I continue doing upgrades. But i do get comments that she's well equipped and in outstanding shape for her age. :-) She's my little money pit - but it's all about amazing hobby, getting out there sailing and enjoying life!

If I'm not mistaken, if you'll take the forward slash off the first bracketed "img" in your picture link I think it should display properly. Should be [img)blah, blah, blah[/img] instead of [/img] blah, blah, blah[/img].
Good chance I'm wrong about that though so take it with a grain of salt.
The local market rules. Put her in our Swap Meet, on SailingTexas.com (really!), Boattrader.com, etc... If that fails after a while, talk to a broker--he can put her on Yachtworld.com and connect to other brokers, which might produce your simplest sale for the best price. I bought that way, and might have sold that way if this site's Swap Meet hadn't done it for me in about 36 hours!
How many hours are on the engine? Tankage? I sold my '82 for $9750.00 in 2007. FK, SR with a 8 horse outboard, so I think for the right buyer you are priced right. BUT, finding the right buyer could take time. I got lucky.
