Considering either selling my '86 Catalina 25 swing keel or possibly swapping for a Capri 25. Mainly for trailering reasons. The Capri looks to be a little lighter and easier plus my growing family needs more cockpit room and less interior room {as my wife refuses to sleep below}. Any suggestions appreciated.

There is a Capri 26 in my mooring field that has some very nice features, such as wider walk ways, a sugar scoop transom and swim ladder configuration that is a huge improvement over our C25's for entry and exit, and a roomy cockpit as you note. Looks like a great boat. Should check beam width to verify the 26 is trailer ready. Good luck in your search.

Capri 25 <> Capri 26, two totally different types of boats. I like the Capri 26 for it's style as a cruiser, the Capri 25 is a different animal, more racer, and lighter.

As for trailer-ability, the Capri 26 is 9'10" the Capri 25 is 9'2" You can trailer either, but might need "oversized" plaqs.
The Capri 25 is 2950 lbs, the Capri 26 is 5250 lbs.
