Had some time and help from a SS shop to fabricate an out-of-the-way railing complete with mounting block for the dinghy's outboard motor.
Roland Orion, a local SS fabricator at work fabricating the railing as per my outline
The new railing blends in well with other stern modifications. Only two members are required complete with 3 fitting, a mounting plate and a little bit of teak to complete the outboard's mounting rail
Close-up of the rail
The 2.3hp Honda suspended leaving sufficient room to fully turn the C250 motor, tip it up or remove/service the motor.
Side view of the motor suspended next to the main engine with teak mounting block attached
The SS clamp-on fasteners allow for some adjustment if required.
The only problem is that for night sailing the stern light is somewhat blocked. A small price to pay for having the extra motor stored out-of-the-way and yet readily accessible
