My mast has some blackish wear/rash and I was wondering if this can just be cleaned off or does it need special treatment?

Thanks,

There's nothing you can do if the anodize coating is scratched through. "Nevr Dull" will clean and impove overall appearance though.

Sparky was a mess when I got her and that included really crappy mast with anodising messed up. Mast was lightly sanded and then cleaned and polished. Once or twice a year the mast is waxed and polished much like is done with a car. It has held up fine these past 12 years or so. A mast can also be painted but prep and upkeep are harder.
