This question came up on another thread; is the mast the same on a tall rig 25 and a C 27? Unless my recently acquired C27 is a tall rig they are not the same. My C 27's mast is 33' long and 18" circumference and my tall rig C 25 is 30' long and 15" circumference.
Hi Clay, The masts are different - - both in length and the extrusion itself. However, the C25 mast extrusion should be the same as the C27 boom extrusion. Catalina does a lot of that sort of "doubling up" for various parts on the boats. Bill Holcomb - C25 Snickerdoodle #4839
Response Posted - 12/14/2012 : 10:25:16 I seem to remember that a tall rig mast is the same one used on the C27 and is actually larger in circumference. It would be great if someone could measure the circumference of both to see if this is true. That way, in the future, when this question is asked we could have them measure the circumference rather then having to hoist a tape to the top of the mast. I would also like to confirm if this is true or just another old wife's tale. Joe Wergers
This came up in a busy thread and since i had one each in my yard i thought i could share.
