I use the images to remind me what needs to be done, and to solicit your advice... like here..

1. locktight on the upper forestay turnbuckle nut ( or red fingernail polish )

2. re bed pulpit

3. repair/replace anchor locker latch

4. repair/replace/fill deadlight

If there are cotter rings in the turnbuckle, what is the nut for?

What's up with all the shackles?

The lower has a hole for a cotter pin. the upper ( from the forestay rigging ) does not have a hole.

<< What's up with all the shackles? >>

extensions .. My rig was destroyed in a storm twice ( previous owner ) and when they replaced the rigging this was the result. ain't that a deal.

The bigger mast next to it at that time destroyed my mast.

Don't use red locktite, it can only be undone with heat. You will probably want to adjust your rigging someday without applying heat to it. Blue (#242) is okay. However you should never need locktite for a lock nut, and that is what you have here.

This would be a good time to add an anchor roller, since you'll be doing so much work in the same vicinity.

I don't recommend running lines around stanchions/pulpit on these boats... Ever... Bluewater boat, OK...
