Our recently acquired C250WB has been in the water for about a month. This week, the boat will be out for 10 days for a bottom job and the boatyard will put it back in the water upon completion.
We are not planning to take any "trailer" trips with the C250WB in the foreseeable future. We also have a C22 with a trailer. Although the Admiral does not like the C22 (too small for her), we can use the smaller C22 boat for "trailer" trips.
In addition, the storage fee for the C250WB trailer is $700/year (twice as much for a haul-out and stand placement for maintenance).
It's a Trail-rite made for the C250WB with mast raising, double axles, brakes and tongue extension. I do understand it may be more difficult to sell the boat in the future but I am near Kemak, Texas and the boat market here is pretty big.
The question is whether to KEEP or SELL the C250WB trailer?
When I bought my trailer it was stored at a place on the south side of Clear Lake that used to charge $35/mth.
It's outside storage in a locked yard off Lawrence street. Coming from Hwy 146 you would turn left at the light next to WestMarine. It's on the left just after you cross over Deke Slayton Highway (FM 518). I think it's called Light House Storage.
I guess you could also stay on Hwy 146 and turn right on FM 518 then left on Lawrence. After you turn left it's down about 200 yards on the left.
I'm paying $45/mth in Missouri City just because it's close to the house.
BTW, I've never used mine but if another hurricane approaches the Texas Coast my boat will be in the Hill Country far from the devastation that will occur. It's not worth having to hassle with the insurance company if the boat gets damaged or destroyed.
