Don't know, but for some reason our gallery system has been getting a lot of traffic: over 5,000 image views just yesterday (Feb 5th 2013 for the archives )
In our case, it's probably due to some recent members publishing their albums.
I guess that increasing the quality (thank Alex for the info on how to make a big difference there.) could be responsible for the greater interest.
The advantage of our gallery system is that the pics stay here, even if the member resigns, their contributions to the rest of us go on.

How much of that is bot scanning? (For services like Google Image Search, etc)
I know I personally spend an hour or 2 changing around my picts, and trimming/updating them yesterday. I think the site makes it pretty easy to host the files to people who are interested. So yeah some of those hits were all me.
Lots more projects to do, if it's of interest to anyone... *Bottom job. *cleat upgrades on the boom *windward sheeting car *new sails *VHF antenna change *depth sounder install (thru hull) etc
Well, I logged onto Shutterfly with no problem from a different computer. Tried it again now this computer with same display problems I describe above. This computer has IE9 while the other has IE8. This is the second website I'm having problems viewing with IE9.
If this is the reason then Microsoft has made another really bonehead move!!!
I agree with Dave. When I built my new computer a while back I wasn't happy with the speed pages were loading in IE. I downloaded Chrome and the pages load almost instantly. I was amazed at the difference. Never went back to IE.
I really like the way Chrome has one space for entering either URLs or search words, instantly interacts with Google as you're typing, and remembers where you've been. Half the time I find typing a few characters more convenient than my folders of bookmarks (although Active Topics here is on my bookmark bar). IE may be catching up, but the "simpler is better" thing still eludes them.
