Canyon Lake Marina sustained major damage last night in the very high winds. Boats slipped on E wing (the one closest to the lake) sustained considerable damage. D wing broke loose and slammed into C wing, damaging boats there. Fortunately we are slipped on B wing which is closest to land, so we came through OK.

Wow, glad you're ok. I haven't heard anything about LCYC, and you know how exposed it is!! No news is good news I hope.

Bad when a pier breaks loose.. You tie your boat well and it just takes it with it. Glad your boat made it. I've had several close calls like that. Time for me to replace a few of my older dock lines.

Glad your boat is OK. Looks like some of those boats in the video could have been saved with spring lines.

What a shame, oddly though, these are the events that give birth to stories that bind people together.

Just got a response from our property manager. Our marina is more exposed, but luckily he said we only broke one cable and everything is ok. I'm gonna check my lines thoroughly this weekend.
This is why snubbers are a requirement at our marina.

Just be sure to replace them every year or two. The sun does bad stuff to black rubber.

For example, exterior plastic pipe that will be exposed should be black--I've seen the difference. That might be why most snubbers I've seen are black.

The snubbers I bought that were blue degraded very quickly. The black ones have held up well.
