We are moored at the Bayou Grande Marine on the NAS in Pensacola and are looking for a good place to anchor overnight and, when the weather warms a bit, a place where we can swim from the boat. We have a fin keeled Cataline 25 so she is not terribly deep. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks!

I keep my boat at the NAS marina in Bayou Grande also, if I get down there I'll see if you're still there and stop by for a visit. One of my favorite places is near Red Fish point just west of the entrance to Pensacola Bay. Another place a little more crowded is Little Sabine at Pensacola Beach and the area east of the beach near the boardwalk. There are several good places to anchor east of the Pensacola Beach bridge along the south side of Santa Rosa sound, though a little exposed to north winds.
Last time we were in Pensacola, we were part of the B.E.E.R cruise. Sailed east from the bay under the bridge. There's an area to anchor Great place to stop for dinner!

Pauol, looks like Navarre, Juana's is a great place for a cold beer and good food! <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">
Especially after a great day sailing along side another C250 on a reach keeping nose to nose by coincidence
Ingram Bayou, just across the Alabama line. Wake up to dolphins in a nature preserve that is only accessible by boat. I wrote it up in Mainsheet a year or two ago.
Lots of good sailing in Escambia bay, and Blackwater / East bay A nice cove to anchor in is Butcherpen cove on the northside of Gulf Breeze just East of 3 Mile Bridge. That is part of the National Seashore Naval Live Oaks Park. Look for the giant red sand dune, you'll know it when you see it.
Not so nice for swimming in these areas though, water is murkier than the beach.
I like it because it isn't as crowded and there is plenty of room to SAIL.
I flew into Gulf shores a couple of nights ago. The approach brought us within a mile or so of Red Fish Point. What a pretty place! I think we will be heading there in the near future!
