I've been reading this forum for some time and I finally joined. I'm married with a toddler. I used to have a Catalina 25 swing keel tall rig that I sailed in Lake Pleasant in Phoenix and then in the Sea of Cortez. Cruised that boat across the baja and back solo. About 5 years ago I bought a Catalina 36, closed down my business, and went cruising with my two golden retrievers from Annapolis to the Bahamas and back to Florida. I returned, sold my sailboats, went back to work, married, and started a family. My amazing wife, who has no background in sailing whatsoever, has accommodated my sailing obsession by trusting me to bring a safe, reasonably priced small cruising sailboat into our family life. After considering the options, I found an '87 Wing standard rig for sale up at Lake Pleasant. We went to take a look and it was clean and nicely equipped. That was over a year ago. Since then I've been steadily refitting and improving it with the sometimes reluctant help of my father in law. I took the new 25 down to San Carlos last October and cruised it across the Sea of Cortez, down into Conception Bay, and back. Our sailboats can definitely handle such passages. My sailblog is referenced below if anyone is interested in that degree of detail. I'm presently posting in the blog about a bimini installation. Of course I've read the numerous and helpful postings in the forum to help get me this far. My wife, the toddler, and I are heading with the sailboat to Lake Powell over Mother's Day. This will be our daughter's third overnight sailing trip.

Welcome Keith! It's good to have you come out of the shadows! I'm sure you have some good advice to give, including about sailing with toddlers, and maybe white-knuckled wives! (?)

BTW, I saw you did your first post in the Capri forum, and then repeated it here... As long as nobody else posts to the other one, as the originator, you can delete that thread.

Hi Keith and welcome.

We are exploring bimini components (all stainless) and will be following your posts.

Kevin at CD, a good guy!

Years ago my mom and dad had a winter place on North Via Tioga.

Hi Kieth. Welcome to this group. These guys are the best ! ! ! Every time I ask a question, the guys on this forum are great at answering. Ive only been a c-25-er for a couple of months and now I own TWO of them. I am amazed at how cheap you can pick up a fixer upper. Anyway....welcome to this asylum. I know you will enjoy it.
