Here is current survey conducted by BoatUS. I love the last one!
For me, I am able to do them all, except not sure what Other is unless it includes flares, etc.

They don't mention flags either (which I've got), and we have everything else listed on the poll, except a "cell" phone, as we've both got "smart" phones.

Along with the VHF, cell and smart phones, I carry a canned air horn, brass handheld fog horn, distress flag, flashlight, and flares. Arms waving can also communicate distress.

I have an electric horn (button by the wheel), compressed gas handheld horn, bell, fixed DSC VHF, handheld VHF (in a floating ditch bag), cell, flares, flag, strobe on my PFD,... ummm... what else? Oh ya--a couple of brilliant orange Type IV cushions I can wave around, throw, or whatever. If the time comes, there's no such thing as too much! (What am I forgetting?)

I have pretty much everything on the list.

I keep my air horn right in my drink holder/organizer at the binnacle. You can see it in every picture I take. IMO, it needs to be within arms reach of the helm at all times. You don't have time to go hunting for it if someone is bearing down on you.
