For those of you who are currently using a tablet for navigation, are you also using a RAM mount to hold it with? I've got several of the RAM ball joint connectors & plates, and I'm leaning toward a RAM X-Grip III, but I've also seen the SlipGrip mounts, which have one specifically designed for the Griffin protective case I've got for our Ipad 2. The SlipGrip looks promising, but it only holds the tablet on two sides and it looks like it could slip out if the going go rough. The RAM X-Grip on the other hand (at twice the price roughly), holds it on three sides and is adjustable to the size of the tablet.
Anyone got any experiences or preferences for holding their tablet?

Dave, I have a waterproof pouch for my IPad. I move around the boat with it so not sure about a mount. However, do these mounts work with a pouch? Steve
The RAM mount is just a bunch of spring loaded fingers, so as long as your pouch wasn't too thick, I'd imagine it'd work just fine. We have a Griffin case, as well as a waterproof pouch (Rita uses it in the hot tub sometimes). My plan is to have it in the case in the pouch in the mount (whatever I get, probably going to be the RAM X-Grip).
