I am looking for recomended surveyors in the Muskegon / Grand Rapids, MI area. Any referals?
Turns out I accidentally bought a boat today: Put in a low ball offer, simply as a thanks for letting me look and if you would take "X" that is what I can do. Well the offer is accepted and I will be moving up in size! Maybe a touch ahead of schedule, but look for Moe Uhane to come up for sale once I complete a few small projects. :O)
Anyway, I found an offer to purchase form to assure that what is conveyed with the boat is spelled out, and offer is pending acceptable survey. We would close the deal this coming weekend due to launch schedule restrictions at our marina.

Tom, Didn't put together it was the same boat! Tell me about your experiences to date. How does it compare to where you were at? Quality of boat overall, what to look out for, sailing characteristics compared to the Cat 25.
ok all thanks: Diesel yes, a single lung Yanmar. I don't know much on that, so want an experienced eye for the engine and hull obviously. Everything else is cake.
The link Dave gave me shows quite a few within 25mi of me. Thanks Dave. Now: anyone have experience with Great Lakes Marine Surveyors (John Lobbezoo) Harbor Marine Surveying (Dave Boersema) Lake Michigan Survey Service (Bob Workman) Lakeshore Professional Marine Surveys (Bob Ptak)
Mike, Sorry I did not get back sooner, I have been doing a little surf fishing on the outer banks the last few days. I think you will be pleased sailing the O28, she is wide, heavy and handles nicely. Also they are not as slow as one might think. I have some regatta hardware to prove that
If you haven't checked out the Oday Owner Forum yet you should. Lots of info there.
Here are a couple of web sites you might be interested in.
