Since there were concerns expressed about seeing the windex with the bimini, here are a couple other pics that I took yesterday. My bimini has always had a window, but last winter I had the window relocated and enlarged to provide better view of the windex from behind the wheel. (Previous location was more suited to a tiller - too far forward for the wheel.) The modified bimini has been a great success.

The number of washers has nothing to do with forestay length or mast rake. Draw a sketch and you'll see why. The T-bolt attaches to the toggle, which attaches to the clevis pin, which goes through the chainplate.
The only effect of the washer is to raise the height of the furler drum (and the whole furler foil that sits on top of it). This then raises the level of the anti-rotation strap, which is needed to give enough room for the holes in the toggle to align with the hole in the chainplate without the chainplate colliding with the anti-rotation strap. But all of this has no effect on the length of the forestay.
