Both screws on my port bow cleat broke off. One of the screws would never tighten like the others. How can I get the broken screws out? They are broken off about 1/4 inch below the surface? My C25 is a 1990 model.
I can not get to the bolts from the anchor locker without cutting an access panel. Due to the depth of the anchor locker on later model C25's you can not get access from underneath. I am hoping someone has been here before and figured out a way to solve the problem. Someone at the dock suggested drilling new holes slightly offset from the old ones. Another person said cut an access panel.
My boat is a 1987, so I'm not sure if there is a design difference on a 1990. I changed all of my cleats because I didn't like the small size. The bow cleats were through-bolted, and the nuts and backing plates were accessed from inside the anchor locker. I removed the old cleats, filled the holes and drilled new holes for the larger cleats.
I need to re-bed the bow pulpit on my '89. The only way I see to gain access to the nuts is thru a couple of new access ports inside the anchor locker. I would think it would be the same for the cleats.
